How Trauma Affects Intimacy

$5.00

Learn how trauma impacts intimacy, trust & connection—and discover gentle tools to begin healing. Live virtual class - donation based.

Trauma can change how we feel, connect, and experience closeness—with ourselves and with others.

In this 1-hour live virtual class, we’ll explore how trauma reshapes the nervous system and impacts emotional and physical intimacy. You’ll learn why it’s common to feel disconnected, shut down, or overly activated in intimate moments, even long after a traumatic experience.

This will be a compassionate, high-level overview of topics including:

  • How trauma affects the brain and nervous system

  • Fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses in relationships

  • Why desire, arousal, and trust can feel difficult after trauma

  • Gentle strategies to begin reconnecting with safety and pleasure

We’ll close with a 15 Q&A — a chance to ask questions, share reflections, or simply listen in.

You’ll leave with:

  • More clarity and language for your experience

  • A few simple, supportive tools

  • A better understanding of your own healing process

Whether you’re in therapy, feeling stuck, or just starting to explore how past experiences may be shaping your intimacy, this class is designed to meet you with care and insight.

This session also introduces themes from the 5-week series “Moving Through Trauma to Achieve Pleasure in Sex, Relationships, and Life.” You’re warmly welcome whether or not you continue into the full program.

Format:

  • 45 minutes: Educational presentation

  • 15 minutes: Q&A and gentle closing reflection
